Please report all bugs via http://bugs.gentoo.org I'm just a power user, but I went ahead and loaded it up. My impressions at this point are very positive. Since I know a lot of the newer users use genkernel, I used it to build and saw no issues there. Overall, the boot process seems faster (I haven't actually timed it, so I could be mistaken). I have problems with the bttv driver in gentoo-sources-r8. I had no problems recompiling alsa-driver and nvidia-kernel. So far this kernel version has worked flawlessly for me.
