First one I cant remember, but the one yesterday hung soon after failing to reallocate root filesystem (or similar) Deleted some thing I shouldnt have soon after, so am now reinstalling and will have another go. Also not really sold on the idea of auto detecting everything on bootup for a working system. Seems slow to boot (as far as it went) and has a lot of cruft attached (unused modules, kernel options etc). If you go the menuconfig route, you may as well do it all by hand, and remove the possiblity of initrd problems. Also, does compiling in the LiveCD gui window (blue) seem much-much slower than a normal tty to others? Took 36hours to do bootstrap on a K6-500, but emerge system seems quite fast now I switched to a normal console.
