[gentoo-dev] Netboot install

Hello,
 the "alternative installation method howto", says that "Due to changes in 
the LiveCD, this procedure will only work for the 1.2 LiveCD". Is this 
still true? If I use the 1.2 LiveCD, will I be able to install gentoo 1.4 ?

The gentoo-user list will probably offer more apropriate support, but as is mentioned here and there, gentoo has no versions. Only the time since youre latest 

emerge sync
emerge -u world

yes you can install gentoo with the old cdrom and then upgrade to the
last version I think

Yes. The LiveCD is nothing but a starting point for the install. It is 
just the same as installing from another already running distro on the 
same hd. Just use a 1.4 tarball and you will be fine.

You will have to update Portage first.
