Hi,

Just a short question to the developers:

Why has gcc-3.3 SLOT="3.2"?

A lot of packages currently do not compile with gcc-3.3 so I installed
gcc-3.2 but that unmerged gcc-3.3! Worse, 'emerge -u world' reinstalled
gcc-3.3. I know, I can inject 3.3 but that's not what I want. I want to
use gcc-3.3 as default and want to use gcc-3.2 for those packages that
do not compile with gcc-3.3 but that's not possible because of the
same SLOT. Any solutions? (Or is this the price to pay for "~x86"?)

Thanks!

 -mk-

In the beginning, there was nothing. And God said, 'Let there be
Light.' And there was still nothing, but you could see a bit better.

Errrrr..... Why don't you just report the packages that don't build with
3.3.x??

I'm using gcc 3.3.1 and ntfsprogs didn't build. I filled a bug report and a
few days after there was a patch. Now I have ntfsprogs compiled with 3.3.1
:-P
