For those who don't need 3d acceleration, Gentoo works "out of the box" with regards to most everything else (including 2d support). Two notes: 1) you don't need a kernel patch for the synaptics support unless you need the fancy extras in gpm. I had better luck with Peter Osterlund's synaptics driver than with the tpconfig stuff. 2) The multimedia keys (on the ze4200 anyway) don't work out of the box, but there is a small perl script on sourceforge called omke that can enable them. -- gentoo-dev@gentoo.org mailing list
