Also, why can't the portage ebuild contain a 0 byte make.conf file? After all, the file CAN be empty and portage will still work from the make.globals since make.conf serves no purpose but to override the system defaults. We could include a make.conf file in the stage tarballs with a few settings (depending on the settings of the stage) and a comment telling the user where the docs for make.conf are located both locally and on Gentoo.org. --=20 Chris Gianelloni Developer, Gentoo Linux Games Team Is your power animal a penguin? --=-wVQta/BTazUZqK80NYOT Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQA/WoKPkT4lNIS36YERAhIxAKCj1eY3MlIjz134AyiBTv9CpM3cSACfUnEc lKajj6Wp5ckN0Wntg8rabNM= =QvKP -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-wVQta/BTazUZqK80NYOT--
