Subject: [gentoo-dev] KDE AA issues
Date: Thu Sep 27 20:14:02 2001 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <1061.209.244.81.118.1001642223.squirrel@thinktank.mediafarm.ch> (raw)
I've harassed everyone I can find about this but have not found the
solution...so, the problem is:
1) latest kde and qt
2) AA works great when apps are launched from a term
3) AA dosent work at all when in KDE and launching apps any other way
(menu, kicker, desktop icon)
4) this is very annoying
5) "echo $QT_XFT" comes back with '1' in konsole, and apps launched from
konsole come up with AA.....but still not from kicker
6) setting QT_XFT=true all over the place (.csrhc, .bashrc(tried it from
bash), /usr/bin/startkde, xinitrc) changes nothing.
7) folks in #kde have no idea what the problem is, but this is not 100%
Gentoo specific because I had this problem on my Debian Sid box before it
became my Gentoo box (I am fairly certain)
any ideas?
