Having seen my name mentioned in the bright lights of GWN concerning
this thread about managing config files:
http://article.gmane.org/gmane.linux.gentoo.devel/6702
I was inspired to add an auto update feature to etc-update. It works
by saving md5sums before you do a big emerge. After a big emerge, it
uses those md5sums to determine which config files you have personally
modified. Those you have never modified will be auto updated.
If you are interested or just want to laugh at my shell programming
abilities, see my submission of it to Bugzilla:
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14666
Did I mention I love gentoo!

And now it is also under the (less bright) lights of Da Gentoo French
Page (http://gentoofr.org). I hope it will bring you a few more
beta-testers. At least, I will try your script this evening.
