Hi,
i want to emerge samba with ldap-support.
emerge -p openldap outputs:
   app-crypt/krb5-1.2.5-r2
   dev-libs/cyrus-sasl-2.1.7-r1
   openldap-2.0.25-r2

Compilation of cyrus-sasl hangs because it needs kerberos4, which i have
no ebuild for.

A funny thing a noticed - 'emerge -p cyrus-sasl-2.1.7' shows no
dependencies (krb)
'emerge -p cyrus-sasl-2.1.7-r1' needs
   net-nds/openldap-2.0.25-r2 and
   app-crypt/krb5-1.2.5-r2
   dev-libs/cyrus-sasl-2.1.7-r1

'emerge -p cyrus-sasl-2.1.7-r2' needs
   app-crypt/krb5-1.2.5-r2
   dev-libs/cyrus-sasl-2.1.7-r1
   net-nds/openldap-2.0.25-r2
   dev-libs/cyrus-sasl-2.1.7-r2

Such strange behaviour also appears with various ebuilds of openldap ...

Is this a case for bugzilla or do you have a solution?

Best regards,
Christian

I just noticed that I have kerberos and sasl in my USE-settings. Thats
because I intended to use this pc for learning several security-topics.
I emerge now with 'export USE="-kerberos -sasl"'
Anyway I'd like to know whether the behaviour described before is usual.
