He probably mean Linux itself and the password that no one has is
probably the root password.

There are several ways of you to retrieve it .. 

1. Did he put on a password in the boot loader?
2. Do you have access to the machine (An account of some sort)
3. Take the disc out and mount it on another linux machine .. chroot the
disk and run passwd .. to set roots password
