This was a case of having a constant blank screen, not the 'flash, flash, flash, flash, command line prompt' that you usually get. full hid support was in. As I say, it was basically the same config file I used for my current (working) kernel. What's the 'southbridge workaround'? Many Thanks,=20 Robin On Fri, 2002-05-03 at 18:28, Gontran wrote: % Robin Parker (rparker@ntlworld.com) wrote: >=20 > X refused to start, all I got was a blank screen. =20 looks like you're using the nvidia drivers? did you recompile those modules? =20 >=20 > Then I tried using my 2.4.19 config with preempt and the low latency > scheduling. >=20 > Now my USB mouse refuses to work and I have 'funny' messages in my > startup. =20 Did you enable full hid support? =20 >=20 > I have attached the output of dmesg. =20 Unrelated: I have the same mobo, have you considered using the "southbr= igde workaround" that is optional? =20 hth Gontran _______________________________________________ gentoo-dev mailing list gentoo-dev@gentoo.org http://lists.gentoo.org/mailman/listinfo/gentoo-dev =20 =20 --=-mH+9Y8rAagGK1714e0M4 Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQA80s4fLDSZqDy75ZkRAkpuAJ443AcEZbg92Bqvbkq6UDjiBMLZVQCfRpcA mTScypArZuNLfeeK0/wtlLY= =Xp6o -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-mH+9Y8rAagGK1714e0M4--
