I've got an ebuild for gnome-spell that makes spell-checking in
evolution possible. The only problem is that it relies on pspell-ispell
which in turn relies on a masked version of pspell. If I unmask the
latest versions of pspell everything seems to build and work perfectly.
Does anyone know why pspell is masked?

I think the README is a little outdated. Gnome-spell seems to build and
work fine on my system without aspell. I think the pspell is the main
dependency that gnome-spell cares about and that it doesn't really care
which pspell module you use - whether it's aspell or ispell.

Hi!

pspell should not be masked anymore as I recently unmasked it. The rest
of the *spells, have been masked for sometime for incompatiblities (
don't know why). and I haven't had a chance to fix them yet.

Note: gnome-spell depends on pspell _and_ aspell according to the
gnome-spell README. I have been attempting to get the aspell-0.33.7.1
(+patches) ebuild updated, but unfortunately I have not got it to
successfully build yet.

Please see my previous post:

Of course, if you would like to help out and look into these issues,
your contribution would be greatly appreciated.

tod

Hi!

Ok, why don't you jump over to bugs.gentoo.org and submit your
gnome-spell ebuild as an "enhancement" "EBUILD" bug. Make this bug
block the bug #283. And assign it to me, tod@gentoo.org

I'll take a look at it and see if we can't get it commited to cvs.

tod
