Subject: [gentoo-dev] Gentoo SOP for non-versioned tarballs?
Date: 08 Feb 2002 10:20:22 -0600 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <1013185223.15050.27.camel@silica.localmosci> (raw)
Hi!
I there a standard operating procedure (SOP) for tarballs that don't
have version numbers. For example, I have been assigned Bug# 480 (see
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=480 ). The ebuild is relatively
straight forward, however there is no version included in the tarball
name. I know that in the past, gentoo developers have added a
appropriate version number to the tarball that goes into the Gentoo
archive, for example see x11-misc/gkrellm-gnome. Is this still the
standard practice?
I would like to clear this bug. The submitted ebuild was for version
1.0, but I will commit version 1.1 which has been enhanced to play nice
with pipes.
Thanks for the help,
tod
