I have compiled the new mozilla-0.9.7 with the gdkxft (XFT rendered TrueType fonts for GDK - gdkxft.sf.net) patch. I don't know if there was decisions about this before. But the patch for mozilla-0.9.6 works fine with the new sources. And galeon and evolution build and run also find with active true type fonts. I don't think we need this for all gtk-apps. But mozilla with truetype support is really great. If you like it too i create some ebuilds for this. I don't like to create first ebuilds and then they wouldn't be accepted (the mosfet story ;-)). For me it's ok and it's run fine. I think we could add it with a new use flag like 'gdkxft'.

Mhh, as i read sometimes it's not fine to add the truetype path to the fontpath. But gdkxft need this. Mhh, in KDE 3 it seems to work fine (the truetype engine seems to be much better there) with truetypes in the normal font path.

[gentoo-dev] Ruby update to 1.6.6

Not sure who to give this to or where to put it. It's not a very big change.

Changes:
Changed the script name and ftp address for the tar.gz.
Created new digest file.
That's it! Compile and install were fine. (at least for me)

1. Change name:
ruby-1.6.4-r1.ebuild to ruby-1.6.6.ebuild

2. Apply diff:
8c8
< SRC_URI="ftp://ftp.netlab.co.jp/pub/lang/ruby/${P}.tar.gz"
---
 > SRC_URI="ftp://ftp.ruby-lang.org/pub/ruby/${P}.tar.gz"

3. Create a new digest-ruby-1.6.6 file with contents:
MD5 4448a497bde57028be6469f5d5ddf5cf ruby-1.6.6.tar.gz 976606

It should be commited in the bugzilla at http://bugs.gentoo.org/
I added this, it's Bug #65 (http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65)
