eja, a friend told me to try gentoo linux, i've dowloaded and installed it
succesfully on my notebook and i think it rocks so i'm here to ask you if i
can become a gentoo linux tester. i've not a lot of experience as tester, i
work as sysadmin and i work on linux a lot of hour a day, it would be a
pleasure to help you, if you need me as tester obviusly.
waiting for a reply.
regards, sandro.

Of course, the offer of testign specific areas that you want tested does
not come around every day ;-)

hmm nice point
i'd say do this ... `nano /usr/portage/profiles/package.mask`
basically everything in there needs to be tested or is broken ...
if you see an entry like:

# <aliz@gentoo.org> (12 Sep 2002)
# Masked for testing
=net-misc/freeswan-1.98b-r1

then simply delete the line '=net-misc ...'
and then run `emerge freeswan`
this process is called unmasking simply because you are
removing the file from the masking file ...

if you have troubles with the emerge, then post your results
to http://bugs.gentoo.org/ ... see if you can locate a previous
bug first that deals with the package ...
if it works well, then inform us (again via bugs.gentoo.org and
a previous bug entry) ... but if the package doesnt have a bug
entry, drop onto irc (irc.openprojects.net #gentoo & #gentoo-dev)
and msg the guy who masked the package with your results
of success ;)
