[gentoo-dev] network problems with eth0 timeouts and stoppages

Hi all 

I'm having a problem with my eth0. I have changed network cards to see if this fixes it but still not.
My ssh sessions times out after some time regardless of working on them or not.

My network seems to die occasionally as well and I have to restart net.eth0 to bring it back up again 

Has anybody else had this problem ?

What kind of network card are you using and which driver are you using?

I had a similar problem using the eepro100.o module on my Intel 82801CAM 
Ethernet PRO/100 but when I switched to the alternate e100.o driver the 
problems went away.   e100.o has been added to the kernel by 2.4.20-pre4, 
possibly an earlier preX too but I'm not sure.

I certainly have not encountered this problem.  I use eepro100 on my Intel
Pro 10/100+ card.  It has worked flawlessly (using 2.4.19 vanilla sources).
