BTW, please update the new locations of the kde packages - all base packages
are now in kde-base, etc. I saw you updated quanta in kde-apps earlier,
please update at the new location as well.

If I understand this correct, all the packages provided by kde as part
of kde2.2 (beside i18n stuff) goes to
kde-base. And what happens to all the other kde apps? Sholde they move
to app-misc....?

bye achim~

They should move to the appropriate non-kde category, like app-office,
net-misc, etc. The reason why we are doing this is because kde-apps is going
to get big, and people seem to want to find a kde office package in app-office
rather than kde-apps. We are also doing this for gnome. The only things that
go in the kde-* and gnome-* categories should be base kde and gnome stuff.

Best Regards,

Hi,

You can see the packages in their new locations in cvs already. Everything
that is part of KDE proper (kdegraphics, kdenetwork etc.) is in kde-base. The
kde-i18n packages are for now still in kde-18.n because we are considering
making an app-i18n category and putting them there as well as the
app-text/*spell-german packages and the like.

Other kde apps go into their proper categories: app-*, media-* and net-*.
Complete list (extract from kde.move):

movepackage kdeaddons kde-apps	kde-base
movepackage kdeadmin kde-apps	kde-base
movepackage kdegraphics kde-apps	kde-base
movepackage kdemultimedia	kde-apps	kde-base
movepackage kdenetwork kde-apps	kde-base
movepackage kdepim kde-apps	kde-base
movepackage kdesdk kde-apps	kde-base
movepackage kdeutils kde-apps	kde-base
movepackage kdoc kde-apps	kde-base

movepackage cervisia kde-apps	dev-util
movepackage kbear kde-apps	net-ftp
movepackage kcpuload kde-apps	app-misc
movepackage kdbg kde-apps	dev-util
movepackage kdevelop kde-apps	dev-util
movepackage kfilecoder kde-apps	app-arch
movepackage kfilereplace kde-apps	app-text
movepackage kgraphspace	kde-apps	app-misc
movepackage kmago kde-apps	net-misc
movepackage knetload kde-apps	net-misc
movepackage koffice kde-apps	app-office
movepackage krusader kde-apps	app-misc
movepackage ktelnet kde-apps	net-misc
movepackage ktexmaker2 kde-apps	app-editors
movepackage kuickshow kde-apps	media-gfx
movepackage kvirc kde-apps	net-irc
movepackage quanta kde-apps	app-editors
movepackage webconfig kde-apps	app-admin

Ask Hallski for gnome-specific info.

Because we need users to run a script to update their /var/db/pkg to prevent
rmemrging packages to satisfy deps, the move will take some time as we
prepare to make users run the script, somehow.
