Hi all,

I want to raise the issue of localization. Many programs provide optional 
interfaces in several languages. Most however provide an option to choose 
only one, or english+one.

1. What is the definitive setting for locale?
2. How do we work with language-based locales (en, he...) vs. country-bsaed 
locales (us, il...)?
3. When it is possible to install all locales at once, do we do so? Or how do 
we determine the combination to install?
4. What about multiple ebuilds for multiple locales? (Especially when 
different files should be downloaded for different locales).

I may not have made myself clear, what I meant was: we should define and 
create such a system of settings, at least a generic one. Right now all we 
have is a keymap setting :-(

Yes, an option in /etc/rc.d/config/basic

LOCALE="en_US" would be nice.
