Hello,
I'm trying to install rc6-r9, but booting from the CD freezes at:
RAMDISK: Compressed image found at block 0

It just hangs... nothing happens. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
  -Adam

PS: My system, in brief: Athlon 900, 768 MB RAM, Voodoo 3 PCI, ATA 100
Hard drive, MSI Motherboard with VIA KT133 / VT82C686B chipsets.

I didn't test this rev of the CD, just the previous one. I'll test
it here now.

I just tested the 1.0_rc6-r9 CD and it booted perfectly for me. It seems
strange that the system should just lock while the kernel is booting. Is
it possible that your ISO image somehow got corrupted, or that your CD burn
did not run properly? I'll post md5sums to the ix86-linux-gnu directory
on ibiblio.org right now which allow you to easily see if your download
is corrupt.

hmm, this is very strange .. afther bnooting with loadlin yesterday i got
the message
that kernel is trying to get read access beyond the ramdisk limits .. so it
can't find
init :( this could be a problem with loadlin, but i don't think so ...

did you check it with a scsi system ?? i can uncompress the initrd and mount
it on my
working gentoo box, so i don't think my download is corrupt ...
