Yes, I have *heard* this as well. I am running Metacity now - seems to work
fine - much faster too. Configuration seems a little dense/opaque but I
guess that this will be sorted out over time.

rumour. 

I've been in touch with the release team and they have recieved the bug
reports now, should be some progress..
 it seems the sawfish maintainer is Missing In Action for now, vacancy
for any lisp haxor out there ;)

I unmasked gnome2 and build went smoothly. However, I prefer to stick with
sawfish for now (since that is what I know).

Trying to emerge sawfish-20020524 and it (and the preceeding ebuild) fails
while trying to compile the lisp components. Before I log this as a bug I
thought I'd check for comments here.
