Hi,
In the sys-kernel/linux/linux-2.4.8.8.ebuild you use linux-2.4.8-ac8, which
has (fairly major) problems with USB (e.g. USB doesn't work for me with that
kernel). I would therefore recommend not using that kernel. They are fixed
in ac10 and beyond.
