Karl T,

Are you sure you're booting the rc6-r10 iso? I'm looking at my rc6-r10 iso
AFTER it boots from the cdrom and in /sbin I see:

fdisk
mkswap
mke2fs
mkreiserfs

as well as a bunch of other important stuff like cardctl, cardmgr, etc.

This goes double for all the people who say e3 is missing as well.

Its in the /usr/bin directory

e3 12,818 bytes

plain as day.

All of this is part of rescue.gz which will be installed in the root
ramdisk when booting off the the iso image.

These tools are not in the build-ix86-1.0_rc6-r10.tbz2 image. This was
probably done to make a smaller tbz2 image, as most of those tools are
needed on initial setup/install.

I installed r10 last week, and the only thing that was missing was e3..
But that's being replaced by 'nano' i heard...

AHA!

Then I am daft. Thank you.

I guess I should've put together that "Installing Gentoo without CD-ROM"
after all.

Kind regards,

Karl T
