Hello,
My emerge for kdebase keeps dying at configuration whilst looking for
Java. Below is the output from emerge.
Suffice to say I do have Java installed and that path does exist, but
the file that the configuration script is looking for does not exist in
the bin directory. It can be found at:
/opt/sun-jdk-1.4.1.01/jre/lib/i386/server/libjvm.so
/opt/sun-jdk-1.4.1.01/jre/lib/i386/client/libjvm.so
Does anyone else get this?
Cheers,
Andy

Do you have a JAVA_HOME setting pointing to your /opt/sun-jdk-1.4.1.01
directory? (not the bin DIR). Also I know the location and name of the
dir in 1.4 changes for the libjvm.so file from like "hotspot" to client
and server I believe it was, I've had 1 or 2 issues with this under
windows.
try a symlink to the client one for good client load times and
performance, or the server one if you have a beefy machine with lots of
resources. it will run client code fine, it is just more aggressive with
memory and JIT'ing of the code.
Best,
-Riyad
