Subject: [gentoo-dev] Cannot complete install of the v1.1a
Date: Thu, 11 Apr 2002 20:39:03 +0200	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <000501c1e188$2a046ee0$0e0ea8c0@vector> (raw)

    Hello.

I have a problem with the installing of Gentoo Linux v1.1a.
I did everything as it was described on your web page, I just
skiped sections "from stage1 to stage2" and "from stage2 to
stage3" - the documentation says that it's not needed.

Then I set up the GRUB, reboot Gentoo Linux, and I get
error in this line (/boot/grub/menu.lst file):

    kernel /boot/bzImage root=/dev/hda6

It says that "a file cannot be found" or something simmilar.
I checked the /boot directory - there is no file named bzImage.

What am I doing wrong ? Please, help me.

    Thank you in advance.

    Best regards,
    Arturas Baranauskas
