Hi folks,

It's time to announce a new release from Project Android[1]. Check it
out on,

   https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Project:Android/tarball

Thanks to the recent advancements of Gentoo, we are able to support
arm64[2] on 64bit ARM based Android devices. Together with the 32bit
refresh, they feature gcc-7.3.0, binutils-2.30, glibc-2.26 and default
PIE[5] from 17.0 profiles[3].

As a result of Project Prefix[4] development, the new releases are
entirely based on the Gentoo main official repository. No android
overlays are needed anymore.

Project Android aims to bring Gentoo users and developers home to their
mobile devices. It produces a GNU environment indifferent to that of
desktop computers.

Cheers,
Benda
