Hi everyone,
I'd like to announce a new project in Gentoo, LibreSSL [1]. LibreSSL
[2] is a drop-in replacement for OpenSSL that was started in reaction to
the heartbleed bug [3] in 2014. Members of the OpenBSD team decided to
fork, refactor and modernize the codebase to improve security.
Development occurs mostly in OpenBSD, but there are ports to other
operating systems. The LibreSSL project in Gentoo aims to bring support
for LibreSSL to Gentoo as an alternative to OpenSSL.
