Hey, last year Gentoo surprised the internets by offering official binary packages. This year, well to no one's surprise who's been paying some attention, we can introduce Eli Schwartz from the USA joining as a Gentoo developer! Are these two things related? Absolutely! Let's hear what Eli has to say about his journey to Gentoo: "I've been a linux user since I got hooked with the linux bug in high school, and asking around for recommendations on distro I was recommended either Arch or Gentoo. Originally I made a mistake ;) and chose Arch due to the binary packages support, but recently Sam James successfully converted me. Now I spend all my time compiling bug reports from source instead of the base system... I'm a big fan of python, and also an upstream maintainer for the Meson Build System, because what is life without suffering through build systems! But when I'm not on a computer my hobby time is usually consumed by my love of reading (both books and ebooks)." Yep, that sounds like the Gentoo fever. And to my knowledge, there's no cure for that ;) Please give Eli a warm welcome to the Gentoo family! -- juippis
