[gentoo-catalyst] mkxf86config and Option "XkbLayout" ""

I want to make a livecd for french user.
I have no probleme with azerty under the console but when i start X my 
keyboard is switch to qwerty.
If i open xorg.conf i have the line  Option "XkbLayout" "". I try to 
put  Option "XkbLayout" "fr" in the xorg.conf.in but mkxf86config 
overwrite it. Looking to mkxf86config.sh show me that it use 
/etc/sysconfig/keyboard to set XkbLayout but i haven't this file.
does somenone have a clue to solve my probleme?
I use mkxf86config0.9, genkernel 3.1.1b and catalyst 1.1.0

A patch to genkernel has been submitted. Please see the bug at
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83328 . Hopefully it gets included
in a genkernel release shortly.

I've asked for it to be included and it should be in the next genkernel
version, which I expect to be released today.
