Hi to all!
I still can't have mouse works in X.. :( As i previous post, it's recognized
by autoconfig and works in gpm but it remains in the middle of the screen
inside GDM.
I remembered that for 2006.0 livecd was used a symlink for mouse...I am wrong
or this can help solve this problem?
Thanks
Luca

Modular X? Monolithic X?
What USE flags?
What INPUT_DEVICES?
Which profile?
We cannot help you without you providing the pertinent information. I
can guarantee you that it works for me (and Andrew... and Danny...) on
our 2006.1 stuff, so it is likely something different that you're doing.

OK. Are you also installing hwsetup in your livecd-stage1?
What does the "ServerLayout" section of the created xorg.conf look like?

Is autoconfig running? What about mkxf86config? You can double-check with
'/etc/init.d/autoconfig status' and '/etc/init.d/mkxf86config status'.

Yes boot are running..mkxf86config configure xorg.conf for the video part,
very well, and also the switching to opengl it's fine.
I wonder if the problem it's that i am using app-misc/livecd-tools-1.33-r2 and
not the stable one...
Thanks

how do you set VIDEO_CARDS using catalyst? I didn't see that in the spec

Well, you can set it multiple ways. You can either make your own
profile and re-snapshot, which is probably the best way to do it, or you
can add it to your envscript.

Hi to all!
After some test i finally solved the problem...
I remembered that on my old livecd (the one with gentoo+slaxtools) i used
x11-misc/mkxf86config-0.9.3 and all was working fine.
So i putted the mkxf86config.sh from 0.9.3 in root_overlay plus a custom
xorg.conf.in with this change:
Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
in both ps/2 mouse and usb mouse (now solved in 0.9.7).
I'll ceck wich can be the differences, and try to build a patch.
Thanks to all for your support

Hi to all!
I am still checking mkxf86config.sh difference between 0.9.7 and 0.9.3:
This is the section at line 159 from 0.9.3 (mouse working fine):
# PS/2 bug: Some keyboards are incorrectly used as mice in XFree. :-(
PSMOUSE="$(ls -l1 /dev/mouse* 2>/dev/null | awk '/input/{print $NF ; exit
0}')"
if [ -n "$PSMOUSE" ];
And this is the same section in the 0.9.7 (mouse not working):
# PS/2 bug: Some keyboards are incorrectly used as mice in XFree. :-(
PSMOUSE="$(ls -l1 /dev/mouse* 2>/dev/null | awk '/psaux/{print $NF ; exit
0}')"
if [ -n "$PSMOUSE" ];
As you can notice, the differences is between input and psaux.
Before opening a bug i'd like to check your opinion.
Thanks for your work

could be totally ignorant thing to say... (and you still might have a
bug) xfree is not xorg.

Please open a bug.
Also, this can be fixed by enabling the legacy psaux interface in your
kernel while you wait.
