what do you mean with 'stale files' and 'manual remove'?

the only 'stale files' I know about are .la files - which AFAIk could all be
removed and stuff in /tmp and /etc

there are some files that don't get removed when uninstalling some packages also from /lib, but mainly from /etc.
when i uninstall a package i first to a qlist and then see if some files haven't got removed and proceed removing them if equery say they  don't belong to any package installed in world (obviously first i move them in another directory and after seeing that they aren't really needed i remove them).
