well, normally packages are compiled with en,en_US or en_GB. adding all of
them sets the programs to install at least one of them by default. if you
need en_US, then add only that, so your linguas should remain only en and
en_US. if it's not read then there's no problem. so i think that it's not a
real need to rebuild anything. just leave there the linguas and build only
new packages with that languages when they came out. since it does nothing
particular not having it installed for that particular language. also i
think that rebuilding a lot of packages just to add en_US and loosing time
doing that it's not good.
so, just add en_US and then build with that flags just the updated packages
that will hit portage in the future.

so try fixing the nspluginwrapper (if you need help search nspluginwrapper
on http://gentoo-wiki.com/) and if the base install command doesn't work
then do a symlink to the plugin in the mozilla directory.
