if user hasn't a java-vm it will use the system one.
With respect to the browser plugins I see this:

they're ok, since there's no 64bit java-nsplugin. with firefox-bin you would
not have problems loading java.
More info follows about what is installed. Let me know whatever info

ccache is needed to reduce the compilation time of packages. the portage
feature to package is another thing.

the system configs are normal too.... the only thing that i can advise you
to do is try the mozilla-firefox instead of mozilla-firefox-bin. don't
uninstall the bin since it can coexhist with the non bin package.... try
that (some hours of compilation) and see what it does.
