Subject: [gentoo-amd64] Meaning of gcc64 USE flag

Hi all,
sys-kernel/linux-headers have gcc64 USE flag. Its desctiption says:
"Use 64-bit kernel compiler". It's not quite clear for me what it
means.
Can anybody explain more? What are the pros and cons to switch it on/off?
Robert
