I use local overlays (the main one also available on GitHub) more than
going outside Portage. But it occurred to me that I also install
calibre outside of Portage, in /usr/local; it=92s notorious for not
working when repackaged. And I do have parts of TeXLive installed by
Portage because they get pulled in, but if I actually want to use TeX
I have the real, complete TeXLive distribution installed in my home.
