Looked at this site with my 32-bit firefox - no problem.

emul-linux-x86-java-1.5.0.12

Sure, even java - I still have blackdown installed, which had a plugin (I remember, how two
years ago I would go for 64 bit firefox if I need to see site with java, and for 32-bit - if I need
flash). But is there point to bother ? I have couple of 32-bit applications, like openoffice,
anyway.

Although I have 64-bit machine for years now, recently I completely switched to 32 bit
firefox-bin, just found supporting both 64-bit and 32-bit firefoxes too much of a bother.
32-bit flash and java works OK for me. Flash under 64-bit is I guess possible through some
wrappers, but is a pain.

It has been a long time since I've looked at Java on my AMD64 machine.
I run into links, etc., and they don't work. It was frustrating two
years ago. It just didn't work. On my machine still it doesn't, but
maybe this is because I haven't tried to fix it in a long time, so...

Here's a link with some Java on the page:

http://mathworld.wolfram.com/GaussianFunction.html

I get the typical white box with a jigsaw puzzle piece asking me to
'Click here to download plugin' and then a message about JRE missing.

I currently use Blackdown but notice this 'virtual' JRE is Sun. That
all seems a bit strange.

I thought that before I invested too much time I'd ask if there is
anyone who makes pages like the one above work and what you have
installed.

Thanks!

Cheers,
