Hi all,
I have followed the guide on the gentoo site and have had to unmask a number of
extra packages and well as kde4.
I think I have resolved all blockages, keywords and masks but I can not resolve
the following:-

!!! Multiple package instances within a single package slot have been pulled
!!! into the dependency graph, resulting in a slot conflict:

dev-python/sip:0

('ebuild', '/', 'dev-python/sip-4.8.2', 'merge') pulled in by
    >=dev-python/sip-4.8.2 required by
('ebuild', '/', 'dev-python/PyQt4-4.5.4-r4', 'merge')
    (and 2 more)

('ebuild', '/', 'dev-python/sip-4.7.9', 'merge') pulled in by
    ~dev-python/sip-4.7.9 required by
('ebuild', '/', 'dev-python/PyQt-3.17.6', 'merge')
    (and 2 more)

I have un-installed all of qt
Any suggestions please.
regards
Paul

I would try to unmerge PyQt and sip and then see what it does.

I have now changed my profile to ~amd64 in make.conf and now I am getting
circular dependencies which I can not seem to resolve.
 * Error: circular dependencies:

('ebuild', '/', 'net-libs/libproxy-0.2.3-r2', 'merge') depends on
  ('ebuild', '/', 'net-libs/webkit-gtk-1.1.10', 'merge') (buildtime)
('ebuild', '/', 'net-libs/libsoup-2.26.3-r1', 'merge') depends on
  ('ebuild', '/', 'net-libs/libproxy-0.2.3-r2', 'merge') (buildtime)
('ebuild', '/', 'net-libs/webkit-gtk-1.1.10', 'merge') depends on
  ('ebuild', '/', 'net-libs/libsoup-2.26.3-r1', 'merge') (buildtime)
webkit-gtk and libsoup are both marked as new as I do not have them installed
at the moment
I seem to be going round in circles.

Hmm, in my system I don't have PyQt at all, just PyQt4. What package wants PyQt?

bad idea

keep in mind that u need remove every package that need kdelibs-3.*

/equery d kdelibs/

And a good idea remove all packages from kde-base and kde-misc
/
emerge -C `qlist -C -I kde-base/`
emerge -C `qlist -C -I kde-misc/`/

More agressive

/emerge -C `qlist -C -I x11-libs/ | grep qt`/

I think that a good idea unmask the last qt packages too.

autounmask x11-libs/qt-4.5.2

Good Luck
