Subject: [gentoo-amd64] ripping problem with mencoder
Date: Mon, 24 Sep 2007 14:50:44 -0400	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <46F80704.5070306@ercbroadband.org> (raw)

Well I have mencoder working, sort of. I'm using this command (ripped
almost verbatim off the Gentoo-Wiki):

mencoder dvd://2 -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4 -oac mp3lame -o
dvdvideo.avi

But when I run that I get video but no audio. During the encoding I get
this in the output:

==========================================================================
Requested audio codec family [a52] (afm=liba52) not available.
Enable it at compilation.
Requested audio codec family [ac3] (afm=libac3) not available.
Enable it at compilation.
Requested audio codec family [hwac3] (afm=hwac3) not available.
Enable it at compilation.
Cannot find codec for audio format 0x2000.
Read DOCS/HTML/en/codecs.html!

But I know lame is on my system and working, I encode audio to MP3
format all the time. Anyone have any idea?
