Somewhere on our beloved distribution there is a merry little script to
add users to mysql. I know it exists. I have have evidence of it in my
.mysql_history however I cannot, for the life of me, remember what it's
called.
I don't want to directly go into the mysql 'shell' and mess with GRANT.
Don't ask me why. The voices insist on that point.

Are you looking for /usr/bin/mysql_setpermission ?

That's pretty close but not quite. But what I used was even simpler. I
