Subject: [gentoo-amd64] x86 processor options for opteron 165

Message-ID: <4555CB4F.20008@pro.onet.pl> (raw)
Hi,
As I am now trying to check the x86 dist against amd64, I have just a
serious question about
CFLAGS="-march= ????? -O2 -pipe"
WHAT should I put into ????? to have full optimizations under x86
distro? athlon-xp seems to NOT have a few features..and should I add
msse msse2 msse3 and maybe some other features to USE flags ?
my cpu is Opteron 165 (dual core)
-----
PS - I just have to check some things, and will NOT dive into x86 only
:) as I know I will have 30% better performance with x86_64 - BUT I need
your advice ;))
regards,

Piotr
