Hi,
Has anyone else experienced problems with the built in cdparanoia of
grip?
When I run it in this mode I experience a massive memeory leak as grip
takes up more and more memory. If I don't kill it quickly it can lock
the machine up (or at least leave it thrasing for a while).
The external cdparanoia mode works well however.

I've been meaning to rip more of my CD collection for a while. Thanks
for giving me the extra incentive. I just finished ripping two CDs with
grip's internal version of cdparanoia, with no memory problems.
Good luck,

Ok, lets see if we can narrow it down. Can you post your emerge -p -v
output so I can compare my setup to yours?
malory xorg-x11 # emerge -p -v grip
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild R ] media-sound/grip-3.2.0 +nls +oggvorbis 0 kB [1]

Hmmm... doesn't the [1] at the end there mean it's using an ebuild in
$PORTDIR_OVERLAY? Right now in portage there's only one ebuild,
media-sound/grip-3.3.0
And I am using both USE flags, +nls & +oggvorbis.
emerge --sync should get you the media-sound/grip-3.3.0 ebuild, that
might help.
Good luck,
Conway S. Smith

Re-emerging grip seems to of fixed it. I suspect it mus of been a subtle
breakage that has been fixed in the meantime.
