Very strange, because I'm running =games-rpg/nwn-1.65-r1
without any problem on amd64.
Try to delete distfile (probably nwclient129.tar.gz)
and emerge again.

So I guess the problem is in the package, not the digest. Time for a bug

Had the same problem as you and thought id try the package from
somewhere else , nwclient129.tar.gz is fine from fileshack so must be
something wrong with the bioware server.
oh and when you install follow the emerge instructions but also as root
touch /etc/env.d/91nwn
echo LDPATH=opt/nwn/miles > /etc/env.d/91nwn
env-update
