Sage Notebook (sage-on-gentoo overlay) can use CUDA as well. I think you don't have to worry that nvidia-drivers would go away; in the worst case it would end up in a good overlay. That's unlikely IMO, and would mostly likely be if there were an established alternative implementation of CUDA.
