Is samba known to be fully working on ~amd64? I'm trying to let a
vmware-server running a Win XP client on this box see the system around it,
so I've emerged samba. Well, I tried, but while watching its compilation I
saw this error go by:

--
make: *** No rule to make target `rpcclient/display.o', needed by
`bin/rpctorture'. Stop.
--

Compilation continued and no error message was given at the end, which seems
to imply it's a trivial problem. However, if rpc doesn't work, how can
samba?

Never mind. It seems to be an upstream problem, but because the original
gentoo bug has been marked CLOSED INVALID it doesn't show up in searches.
Yes, I know - we could configure our searches to include that category, but
it isn't the default and most people will use that.

Sorry for the noise, and on a Sunday too...
