Do the suspend2-sources work on amd64? I assume they do, but since I've
never used them I want to see if there are any gotchas to running them.

In my experience they boot, and generally work, except for the suspend-part.
Somehow, I never got the restoring from suspending working on amd64. It
always stopped right after
Reloading kernel.....
Then it just stopped and I had to reboot. No clue what went wrong. I never
tried the 2.6.16 version though, only 2.6.15.

I have a Compaq R3240US laptop. suspend2 works correctly for me
including suspend/resume except for X.

X must not be running at all or the system freezes during resume.

I can confirm this with my R3000 laptop. The amd64 support has been improved
in the last couple months and apparently it is even better with the 2.6.16
version of kernel. I'm waiting for it to get into portage.

Also I heard that the nvidia support for suspend will be improved in the next
release of the binary nvidia driver. But I am not sure if it is 64bit.

Confirming on my Acer Aspire 5024WLMi - from text mode system suspends
excellent, from X it doesn't. Maybe on the newest ati-drivers it will
work. We'll see...
