I'm compiling new 2.6.1 kernel and has problem with SCSI devices. Symbios 53c8xx driver goes system to crash (as module, or builtin). Hardware: AlphaPC164SX, Symbios 53c875 SCSI controller. Does anybody successfully used new kernel with such system? regards, alexey -- gentoo-alpha@gentoo.org mailing list ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 2+ messages in thread

I've heard that 2.6.1 broke some things badly for alpha. You're better to stick with 2.6.0 for the moment, or perhaps the problems are fixed in one of the available patch sets (2.6.2_pre or Andrew Morten's patches) Aron -- Aron Griffis Gentoo Linux Developer (alpha / ia64 / ruby / vim) Key fingerprint = E3B6 8734 C2D6 B5E5 AE76 FB3A 26B1 C5E3 2010 4EB0 [-- Attachment #2: Type: application/pgp-signature, Size: 189 bytes --] ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 2+ messages in thread
