Subject: [gentoo-alpha] re-bootstrap a running sytem
Date: Tue, 06 Jan 2004 22:49:18 +0000 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <3FFB3B6E.8010802@htam.net> (raw)
Hi everyone,
For a few days now, my gcc is segfaulting with everything, including
emerging a new gcc.
So, my only option is to rebootstrap from a stage tar balls.
Is it possible to rebootstrap a running system by simply untarring the
desired tarballs and running bootstrap.sh and emerge system|world again
? (Yes gcc from stage tarball works)
Thanks in advance for any response.
Sincerely yours (and happy new years),
Mathieu MILLET.
