I returned the D-Link that was not working and got another one - now I am up and working! I still would like to have the DEC cards working in case I want to experiment with net booting. The errors I get are ierrs in Freebsd and receive errors in linux (sometimes other strange errors as well). I am guessing it is just old hardware unless you have a suggestion. Thanks for the info! What chips are on the cards? There are very few Ethernet chips that the SRM console supports. For the most part, the list is tulip (2104x, 2114x); Intel EtherExpress Pro (82557, 82558, 82559); and Broadcom 5703- and 5704-based Gigabit Ethernet adapters. Furthermore, most of the time you need a Digital/Compaq/hp branded adapter for the PCI ids to be recognized by SRM. > I know that I can't boot from them but I don't need to so it's not a > problem.
