I had that compiled in. I also had it not compiled in.  

But I think that's the problem.  It's not that it isn't shutting down, it's freezing without
unmounting the filesystems (i.e. there is not [ok] at the end of the "Unmounting Filesystems"
line).  When I reboot, fsck forces a check on my root because of unproper dismounting.  Any other
ideas?  

Help ... I need somebody ... Help ... You know I need someone ... Helllllllp!
